About Anthony Benjamin Albert Sanders
"Tony" had two gasoline stations. The first one he had only briefly; but the second one on Irving Park Rd. in Chicago, he had for many years. At that station, he had two dogs. The first one was Pudgy, and the second one was Lucky. "Tony" worked long hours at the stations, but sometimes on the weekends he found the time to take his children to the beaches, zoos, museums, and Riverview Park in Chicago. There he especially liked to go on the "Bobs", one of the park's fastest roller coasters. He also liked to take his children to the Cook County Forest Preserves; to O'Hare Airport, where they could watch the planes arrive and take off from the terminal roof; and to River Forest, where they could see the beautiful homes where "the rich people" lived.
When "Tony" no longer had the gasoline stations, he worked several jobs briefly. Finally, through his brother Joe, he found a job at the United Gypsum, Lime, and Cement Workers International Union. There he worked until he died.
From his early twenties "Tony" was extremely hard of hearing. This sometimes made communication difficult for him. However, it did't stop him from playing the violin just as his father had done before him. (Memories of his daughter, Therese Bilodeau 2007)
Godparents: Antoni Sonder (uncle) Antoinette Ptak (aunt)
The grave address for Anthony Sanders is Grave 7, Lot 8, Block39, Section 35 (at the Immaculate Conception Shrine, close to Albion), in Saint Adelbert Cemetery, in Niles IL.
