Biography ==Anthony Francis Thomson, son of Anthony Todd Thomson and his wife Katherine was born on 27 November 1820 and baptised in the parish of Saint Luke, Chelsea on 31 January 1821.<ref>"England Births and Christenings, 1538-1975", database, FamilySearch(https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:J3CD-WFD : 20 March 2020), Anthony Francis Thomson, 1821.</ref>

Listed in Crockford’s Clerical Directory for 1882 as incumbent of St Peter, Dinard les Bains (across the estuary of the River Rance from StMalo, Brittany). He was consecrated as Deacon in 1848 (and graduatedBA). Priest in 1849. Sundry Livings between 1848 and 1852. Headmaster of St John’s 1852–1857. Then Chaplain at Avranches 1862–74. Chaplain at Dinard 1873-77. He published (a book/article) on Mont St Michel in 1879. ::: According to the sons of GM Thomson, he had lived on the Channel Islands and loved sailing and fishing. AFT had apparently got into trouble with Canterbury for marrying the daughter of a friend (LordCockburn) to a divorcee and had his marriage licence revoked so had to findemployment outside England. The Anglican Church in Dinard is St Bartholomew’s and its baptismal register between 11 Aug 1873 and 6 Sept 1876 shows AF as Chaplain. His is listed in the Clergy list for 1884 but in the next (1892) edition he is not listed.
