Anton Peter Madson was born to Jacob and Dorothea Christine Jensen Madsen in Denmark in 1852. The family joined the LDS church there and immigrated to America in 1857 when Anton was only 4 or 5 years old. He married Elizabeth Mary Jane Nelson, and they had eleven children. Elizabeth Mary Jane Nelson was the daughter of Mary Catherine Welker and her husband Thomas Billington Nelson. Anton's older brother, Christian Madsen, was married to Roxana Louisa Welker, the daughter of Mary Catherine Welker's brother, John Welker and his wife, Roxanna Mahala Dustin Welker. Two sisters of Anton Peter and his brother Christian also married Welker sons:
Eliza Madsen married Alfred Welker and Marie Inger Madsen married James Albert Welker. Both Alfred and James Albert Welker were sons of James Wilburn Welker, the older brother of John Welker and Mary Catherine Welker. Another brother of James Wilburn Welker, Adam Pugh Welker, married Clara Osmond, the daughter of George and Mary Georgina Huckvale Osmond. George and Georgina Osmond were the great grandparents of Donny and Marie Osmond, of the singing group the Osmond Brothers who were popular in the 1970's.
Anton worked as a farmer most of his life. He passed away in Salt Lake City, Utah, in 1924 after suffering from prostate cancer for two years. At the time of his death he was living at 511 C Street, and was a 72 year old widower. His wife, Elizabeth Mary Jane had passed away 11 years before him in 1913. The informant on Anton Peter Madsen's Utah death certificate was Heber Christian Nelsen, his son-in-law, who was married to Anton's and Elizabeth's daughter, Samantha.
