Antonius Lindemann

Hans Luder married Margarethe Lindemann of the same age around 1479 (* 1459 in Neustadt an der Saale , † June 30, 1531 in Eisleben). Margarethe, also known as Hanna in the family, came from the Lindemann middle-class family in Eisenach. The Lindemanns came from the upscale artisan or merchant class; Margaret's brothers had completed law studies, a prerequisite for further social advancement. Another branch of the Lindemann family was involved in mining and metallurgy: Margarethe's uncle, Antonius Lindemann, was at that time the highest mountain administrator (count) in the county of Mansfeld. Both components explain the marriage of Hans Luder, who comes from the village's upper class, to a woman from the urban middle class.
