About Archiebald Goble Music/Musick, Rev.
Birth: May, 1841 Washington County Virginia, USA Death: Dec. 16, 1919 Washita County Oklahoma, USA
A. G. Music was born in Washington Co., Virginia, about the year of 1841. When a small boy he moved with his parents to Kentucky. At about eighteen years of age he became a member of the Church of Christ and afterwards served as a deacon for many years. I have known him for more than forty years. He was a man whose veracity was never questioned. He was loved and honored by all who knew him. Those who were poor and needy and those in distress never appealed to him in vain. He was generous almost to a fault. He possessed a deep religious nature and an abiding faith in Christ. Those who knew him intimately, knew his inner life, could appreciate the simplicity of that faith that sustained him through life and upon which he leaned in death. For the last eight years he made a brave fight for life. Seven years ago he underwent two operations and very few thought he could live more than a few days. I sat by his bedside many, many nights and we talked often and freely of death and the future. He told me that he was ready to go at any time the Master should call. He belonged to the Masonic order and I herewith give the following: Zebulon Lodge No. 273 F. & A. M. Prestonburg, Ky. To whom it may concern: This is to certify that Brother Arch Goble Music was made and entered apprentice, January 4th, 1892 and passed to the Fellow Craft degree February 1892; and was raised to the Sublime degree of Master Mason, March 7th, 1892 and is now a Master Mason in good standing in Zebulon Lodge No. 273 F. & A. M., in the Grand Jurisdiction of Kentucky. James M. Morrell Master, F. H. Morrell Secretary. This good man passed from labor to reward or as the apostle, Paul would express it, "He fell asleep on December 17th, 12:45 o'clock a.m." His body was laid to rest in the Ural cemetery. Brother Carmen conducted the funeral services on behalf of the church. He gave one of the most sublime talks I have ever heard after which the Masons performed their ceremony. I am requested by the family to express their grateful thanks to all who assisted them in their sad bereavement. May the dear Lord comfort the desolate wife that stood by him so nobly through life and so faithfully in death. To all the loved ones he has left behind, let me say with Paul, Sorrow not as others who have no hope "for those that sleep in Jesus will God bring with him," ~S. J. Short
