Arnold R. Christianson 95 of Austin, Minnesota died Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at his home.

He was born February 21, 1920 in Udolpho Township, Mower County, Minnesota the son of Christian B. and Bertha (Stemson) Christianson. Arnold attended school in Austin and graduated from Austin High School. He served his country in the U.S. Army during WW 11 and was the recipient of the Bronze Star Medal and Purple heart. On July 29, 1945, Arnold married Rayma A. Peterson at Red Oak Grove Lutheran Church in rural Austin. The couple raised five children and were married for more than 64 years. Arnold was a lifelong resident of Udolpho Township and Austin, and a charter member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church. Arnold worked as a laborer at Hormel Foods, retiring after 44 years of service. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Christian and Bertha Christianson, his wife Rayma Christianson in 2010, one great granddaughter Kylie Mae, seven brothers, three sisters, eight brothers-in-law and 10 sisters-in-law.

Funeral services will be held at 11AM on Saturday, Februaty 6, 2016 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Austin with the Rev. Karen Behling officiating. Visitation will be held from 9 to 11AM on Saturday at the church, immediately preceding the service. Interment with military honors by American Legion Post 91 will be in Red Oak Grove Lutheran Cemetery. Worlein Funeral Home of Austin is assisting the family.
