She was born in Van Buren May 29, 1916, the first child of Napoleon and Florence Littlefield Cyr. The family moved to North Monroe when she was six years old. After the sale of the farm, she moved to Topsham to share a home with her son and family. She was self-taught in crocheting, knitting and sewing. She became interested in genealogical research while serving as town clerk of Prospect from 1962 to 1975. This interest continued until the time of her death. A Christian since November 1941, she taught Sunday school for many years. She was a member of Evangelical Baptist Church of Bucksport from 1965 to 1976 and transferred her membership to Berean Baptist Church in Brunswick. She was involved in both churches in Sunday school, Vacation Bible School and Women’s Missionary Fellowship. She was also predeceased by two sisters, Helen Kirkland, July 4, 2003 and Ruth Haley, Nov. 30, 2004. She is survived by a son, Wayne C. Harriman and his wife, Linda, of Topsham; three grandchildren, Scott Harriman of Garfield, Wash., Joan VanDewater of Denver, Colo., and Valerie Grindle of Augusta, and one grandchild.
