About Arthur Erwin Baker
Arthur Erwin Baker attended the public schools of Potsdam, New York, then turned his attention to business pursuits, familiarizing himself with the details of the construction business, which he followed until the year 1906, and in which he achieved a large degree of success. In the following year he took up residence in Biddeford, Maine, and there engaged in the hardware business. After the death of his father-in-law, Carlos Heard, he assumed charge of his hardware business. Arthur was a director of the Pepperell Trust Company. He was a member of Dunlap Lodge, No. 47, Ancient Free and Accepted Masons; York Chapter, No. 5, Royal Arch Masons; Maine Council, Royal and Select Masters; Bradford Commandery, No. 4., Knights Templar; Kora Temple, Ancient Arabic Order of Nobles of the Mystic Shrine; Ada Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star and the Odd Fellows. He married Edna Heard on December 12, 1906.
