About Arthur Bodenheimer

http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=75278849

Louis (husband of Bertha Schoemann) who was the father of Arthur who lived in River Edge, New Jersey. For some reason, I have a reference to a middle name of Harry, but he didn't have a middle name.

Joan writes, my great-grandfather, Bernhard was born in Waibstadt Germany as was my grandfather, Louis. Louis married Bertha and in 1921 they had a son - Arthur - who is my father. Arthur grew up in Frankfurt, Germany, but fled to NYC when he was 17. Louis was in a concentration camp but escaped and Bertha and Louis settled in NYC, opening their tailorshop once again. My dad, Arthur, did not see his parents for 5 years as he was serving in the Army and got his citizenship papers in Saipan after he had served for four years! We all speak German and eat too many German foods!

Arthur Bodenheimer married Suzanne Ottenheimer. They had a son Peter and a daughter Joan Sandra Bodenheimer, who married Ted Borowsky.

Arthur Bodenheimer lived with his cousin Herbert Strauss when he came to American. Max Strauss was Herbert’s dad and Arthur's “Sponsor”. Arthur arrived onboard the Hamburg on October 9, 1938 at age 17

Joan and Ted live in Philadelphia and had 3 daughters: Alison, Julie, and Lisa.

(Bertha's last name could probably be Schoenmann.)
