Arthur Byron "Bye" Caffey

Arthur Byron (Bye) passed away December 21, 2017 at the age of 91. He was born February 7, 1926, the son of James Arthur Caffey and Bessie Idell Rolan Caffey. Bye was born and raised in Tanglewood, Texas, as a country boy, working the land to survive. He married at age 20, moved to Houston, TX, and retired from Continental Can Company after 35 years (with some of those years living in Weslaco, TX). He loved spending time with family, friends and especially his 2 granddaughters and 2 great granddaughters! He enjoyed salt water fishing with his buddies. A gentle & quiet-spoken man, Bye was at peace with God. He leaves countless happy memories including fun times forever in the hearts of those who loved him. He saw a lot in his 91+ years, living through the Great Depression. He learned how to make do with what he had and was content to live the simple life. He loved taking "road trips" visiting friends and family.
He is survived by 2 Children; Son, Byron Dale Caffey of McDade, TX and Daughter, Viki Caffey Bollier and husband, James of Duncanville, TX; 2 Granddaughters; Tosha Bollier Alexander and husband, Justin of DeSoto, TX and Lauren Danielle Caffey of Austin, TX; 2 Great Granddaughters; Gracyn (Gracy) Taylor Alexander of DeSoto, TX and Ansley (Annie) Morgan Alexander of DeSoto, TX; numerous nieces, nephews, a brother-in-law and sister-in-law & many friends he met on this life's journey.
Preceded in death by Parents, James Arthur and Bessie Idell Rolan Caffey; Wife, Peggy Marie House Caffey of 64 years; 5 siblings, Baby Caffey, James Alton Caffey, Oral Udale (Buddy) Caffey, Geraldeane (Dean) Caffey, Novelene Caffey Currey.
Visitation is from 5-7 PM Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at Jaynes Memorial Chapel in Duncanville. Funeral Service is 11:00 AM, Wednesday December 27, 2017 also at Jaynes. Graveside service is 1:00 PM, Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery, 13102 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77060.
