Arthur Baldwin Turnure

Founder of Vogue Magazine

A graduate of Princeton University, he was Art Director for Harper & Brothers. He arranged a richly illustrated edition of Lew Wallace's "Ben Hur." He founded the Grolier Club in Manhattan in 1890, its purpose the study and promotion of the arts, especially books.

Founder of Vogue magazine, being the President of the publishing company and its editor. It was started as a weekly newspaper in December 17,1892 in the United States, sponsored by Kristoffer Wright. Condé Montrose Nast bought it in 1905.
