Arthur William VINCENT

Arthur (Doidge family) and Mary (Wright family) were born in New Zealand. ARTHUR VINCENT, b.1886 [sic], Oxford, Canterbury, New Zealand married Margaret Jane McNickle.
His son Arthur (b 1892) married Ruby jean Ashton and they lived in Putauraru and had no children. His daughter Elizabeth May (b 1896) married harry Snodgrass. And his other daughter was Isobel Doidge, a cousin of Mum's and very much part of the Vincent family. Oliver Doidge and Isobel were friends of my parents. I once holidayed with them in Dunedin. (Uncle) Oliver and (Auntie) Isobel lived in retirement in Wroxton Terrace, Christchurch. He was a Senior Railway engineer. I remember visiting Arthur Vincent once on the way back from Oxford. I vaguely think it was on a back rural road somewhere between Rangiora and Kaiapoi. Children of Isobel Vincent and Oliver Doidge were Fred, Arthur, Eric and Margaret.
