Locate Government
Land In Utah
Jim Alexander and Asa Brooks returned Sunday from their trip to Utah. Paul Crist, who went with them did not return until Wednesday. Each of the boys secured a half section of Uncle Sam’s domain. The land the boys located on is only a few miles from the railroad town of Milford. Paul says climatic canditions [sic] there are much the same as in Inyo county only that the rainfall is greater, amounting to an average of 13 inches. Soil is said to be good and admirably adapted to the raising of small grains and deciduous fruits.
Dry farming is successfully practiced, but water for irrigation is found at depths varying from 16 to 80 feet. The boys are enthusiastic over their find and hope to make a fortune in the land of Mormons and buffalo grass. May their fondest dreams be realized.
