About Aubrey Woolls Sampson, Col. Sir

Aubrey Woolls-Sampson was a gold miner and adventurer. He became a co-conspirator in Jameson Raid and was captured and imprisoned. One of the founders of the Imperial Light Horse during Second Anglo-Boer War. Became chief intelligence officer under colonel Benson in eastern Transvaal. Later became colonel. Aubrey was knighted after the war.
