August Mattson

August Mattson, 79, died Sunday at a La Crosse hospital. He was born August 30, 1886 at Jackson County, WI and had spent most of his life in Black River Falls where he operated the Mattson Funeral Service from 1915-1942.

Funeral services were conducted at 2pm today at Evangelical Lutheran church with Rev TA Rykken officiating and burial in Riverside Cemetery.

Surviving are 3 sons: 1. Gaylord E Mattson, (1918-1999) married Vera 2. Richard (Harold) Mattson (1920-2003) of Black River Falls; 3. Thomas Edward Mattson (1924-1997) of Milwaukee,

two brothers Odin Mattson of Lansing, Michigan and Carl of Los Angeles; three sisters Mrs Inga Hudgin, Mrs Laurenza Dunning of Black River Falls and Mrs Berdine Benish of Eau Claire, nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.
