St. Louis, Missouri - Delivery boy (13 yrs. old) for Seigel Florist; helper at Lansdown Box Company; punchpress operator at Potter Electric Company; made barber chairs (put filler on wood) at H. Pauk & Sons; helper at chain factory; and auto mechanic (electric cars) at Tebbleman Baking Company.

Granite City, Illinois - Core inspector & core maker at Commonwealth Steel Co. during WWI.

San Diego, California - Mechanic & night watchman at Walnut Street Garage; chauffeur for Adolph Levi from 1933-1942; aircraft mechanic at Convair for 2 1/2 yrs; drove ambulances, trucks, etc. for Navy hospital for 1 1/2 yrs. during WWII; aircraft mechanic at Convair for 2 1/2 yrs. (again); painter for Carl Oberg for 9 years; painter for various other contractors; and painter at Hotel Del Coronado for 4 yrs., 9 mos. (then retired).
