Gus Ruder, 71, longtime Oakley hardware and lumber dealer, died April 26, 1981 at St. Anthony's Hospital in Hays. Services were at 10 a.m. April 29 from St. Joseph's Church with Rev. Basil Torrez officiating. Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery with Koster Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Ruder was born Dec. 6, 1909. Survivors include his wife, Irene, three sons, Hearn G., Laguna Hills, Calif.; Duane F. and Steve J., Oakley; a daughter, Cheryl Ruder, Grainfield; brothers T.J. Ruder, Hays and Earl F., Tampa, Fla.; sisters Miss Dorothy B. Ruder, Hays; Mrs. Leo Boss, Topeka; Sr. M. Agnessa, CSA and Sr. M. Johnella CSA, Fond De Lac, Wisc.; Mrs. Dick (Florentine) McCarthy, Hays, Mrs. Marcel Roth; and Mrs. Walter (Bernice) Klaus, all of Hays, 11 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
