Augustus Wyant Dead.
Augustus Wyant, a well known citizen of East Rockingham, died at his home, several miles below McGaheysville, last Saturday, His death followed an operation for the removal of an abcess by two surgeons from Johns Hopkins Hospital on Monday of last week. His death had been almost hourly expected from the time the operation was performed. Mr. Wyant was a member of a numerous East Rockingham family and he leaves many relatives in that section. His widow survives him with two children—Prof. Claude N. Wyant, who has for several years been superintendent of Kenyon Military Academy at Gambier, Ohio, and Miss Zada K. Wyant, who has been connected with the public schools of Roanoke City. His age was about 63 years. He was a member of the Methodist church and his remains were buried last Monday at McGaheysville.- About a month ago Mr. Wyant's property was destroyed by fire, entailing a loss of several thousand dollars
