Avalina Rhodd

A woman who sang sweetly, and spoke passionately of old movies (Classics). She loved the arts and passed on this passion to me. She kept to herself a great deal...even when others were around. She seemed to prefer being off in her own private mental and physical space. Yet there were her moments when she needed us....needed to connect. She kept family photos like they were her greatest/prized treasures- pieces of herself that we knew very little of. She was beautiful and very often misunderstood. Life, I still believe, was cruel to her. I cry for her even now as the anniversary of her death draws at hand. R.I.P Dolores Evangeline Avalina Rhodd. Thanks for giving me a chance to come into this world. You struggled to care for your nine children and it was hard. I wish that life had cut you some slack. I miss you so much and as an adult, I still yearn for you as an infant years for its mother.
