I am still trying to find his relatives in Sweden or any information about him there. He came to the U.S. around 1903, settled in Bridgeport, Conn. and met and married my Swedish grandmother. They were both members of the Swedish Methodist Church where Axel sang. He and my father were excellent tenors who were members of the Swedish tenor society and traveled throughout New England. He may have had a sister there, Esther Lundberg. He died before I was born but I was told he was a gentle man who sang like a nightingale.
