Barbara Catherine Butler

Barbara Catherine "Sally" Tarleton Pinyan Butler was the mother of Mallie Hewitt. Her headstone only shows her last name "Butler" with no dates. An early transcription of Bowen Cemetery shows her name as "Sally Tarleton Butler (Grandma) mother of Mallie Hewitt".

The 1920 Arkansas Census, Pike Co., Wolf Creek, shows her living in the home of her daughter Mallie Hewitt and her husband. Barbara was listed as Barbara C. Butler and erroneously shown as mother instead of mother-in-law. Mallie's maiden name was "Pinyan" per her son's death certificate.

Barbara Catherine Tarleton was first married to John Pinyan on March 10, 1853 in Union Co., NC. They had several children together. After his death, she remarried to Easton (Easter ?) Carroll Butler On Dec. 25, 1879 in Dyer Co., TN. They had 1 son together.

Barbara does not appear on the 1930 census and presumably died between 1920-1930 in Bowen, Pike Co., Arkansas.

Barbara Catherine Tarleton Pinyan married Easton Carroll Butler 25 Dec. 1879 Dyer Co., TN (TN Mar 1780-2002). He died 13 Dec 1911 in Rockwall Co., TX (TX Deaths 1890-1976). They had one son Asa Landreth Butler (1881-1942). Barbara Catherine was Easton's 5th wife. See 1880 Dyer Co., TN (Carroll Butler), 1900 Pike Co., AR (Cerrel Butler).
