She is the daughter of John Edward Dillard and Cora Pauline Pfeiffer. Her sister Hazel taught at Eliza Jane Wilson and married Mr Trapp then moved to Texas. Also a member at Immanuel Lutheran Church.'

Barbara is buried in the St. Michael's Cemetery in Pensacola Fl.
