Barbara Miller Lawson, 76, of Granby, a rancher, died Jan. 9 in Denver. Memorial services were Jan. 13 at Church of the Eternal Hills. Interment was in Fairmount Cemetery.

She was born April 3, 1925, in New York.

On April 28, 1961, she married Bill L. Lawson in Westport, Conn. He preceded her in death.

She raised registered Hereford cattle on her ranch in Grand County. She was a Red Cross volunteer and airplane spotter during World War II. She was a member of American Hereford Association. Her interests included flying, knitting, and dogs and cats.

She is survived by a son, Lennart Thorell, Sandpoint, Idaho; two daughters, Linda Hills, Littleton, and Sandra Hersman, Glenwood Springs; and five grandchildren.
