Barbara G. Sholar

Barbara F. Sholar, 87, of North Jessup Ave., died Sunday, December 6, 2015 at 10:22 p.m. at Jennie Stuart Medical Center of natural causes.

Funeral services will be Thursday, December 10, 2015, at 10 a.m. at Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home with Rev. Brandon Boone and Rev. John Birchett officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

A native of Trigg County, she was born March 22, 1928, the daughter of the late Joe Blackford and Alice Thomas Fowler. She worked as a production worker. She was a charter member of Edgewood Baptist Church. She was a member of WMU and the Pep Club at the church.

She was preceded in death by her grandson, Matthew Brock Sholar.

She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Lacy H. Sholar; a son, Lacy E. Sholar (Linda B.) of Clinton, MS; a daughter, Karen S. Rogers (Michael A.) of Hopkinsville; a brother, J. B. Fowler of Panama City Beach, FL; 2 sisters, Martha N. Wade (J.D.) of Gracey, and Jean Allen of Hopkinsville; and 2 grandchildren, Erin Elizabeth Sholar and Andrew Todd Sholar.
