STONE, BEATRICE ANNA, 71, St. Peter's, died peacefully in the Strait Richmond Hospital, after losing her battle with cancer on Sunday, July 23, 2000. Born in Sampsonville, she was a daughter of the late Peter and Margaret (Sampson) Sampson.

She will be lovingly remembered for her dedication to her family, her strength of character and her wit. She enjoyed gardening, reading and was an avid Montreal Canadians fan. She was employed in St. Peter's at Morrison's Store, Maritime Tel & Tel, Nicolas Denys Museum and later the St. Peter's Post Office until her retirement. In the past she was active in her community, a member of the Alter Society, Royal Canadian Legion Branch 47 Ladies Auxiliary and the Home and School Association.

She is survived by her loving husband, Johnny; sons, Brent (Mae), Sydney; Pierre (Janet), Orleans, Ont.; daughters, Maura Poirier, Louisdale; Denise Mombourquette (Larry), St. Peter's; Janice Touesnard (Ervin), River Bourgeois; Gisele McPhee (Fraser), Lower Sackville; Paula Sampson (Jerome), Halifax; Tanya, at home; brothers, Whiley, Theodore and Daniel Yugh "DY"; sisters, Lila Carter (Charlie), Genevieve Carter (George), Mary Margaret "Peggy" Savoy and Melinda Deveau; grandchildren, Marc, Andrea, Tom, Scott, Lindsay, Andrew, Kristin, Amanda, Ainsley, Cameron, Adam, Justin, Trevor, Ryan and Michael.

She was predeceased by brothers, Enos, Bernard, Martin and Patrick; sisters, Delrosa Savoy, Grace Carter and a sister in infancy.

The body is resting in the River Bourgeois Funeral Home. Visitation will be 10 a.m.?9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at 10 a.m. until time of funeral. Funeral mass will be held 2 p.m. Thursday in St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, Rev. Duncan MacIsaac officiating. Burial in parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Richmond Villa Activity Department. Funeral under the direction of Alex A. Morrison Funeral Home, St. Peter’s.
