Engelstad, Ben CAMBRIDGE-DEERFIELD - Ben Engelstad, age 87, of Rt. 2, Cambridge, died on Saturday, December 14, 1974, at a Ft. Atkinson hospital. Born January 16, 1887 at Deerfield, he was married to the former Julia Spilde on June 11, 1919. Together they farmed in the Cambridge are until retiring to Cambridge in 1971. He was a clerk for the old Thompson School District for many years. Mr. Engelstad was amember of St. Paul's Liberty lutheran Church, rural Deerfield. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Roger, Glenn both of Cambridge; a daughter Mrs. F. Wells Smith, Plymouth, Michigan; seven grandchildren; and a brother, Fred, Cambridge. Funeral services will be held at ST. PAUL'S LIBERTY LUTHERAN CHURCH, at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 17, The Rev. James Steinbrecher officiating. Burial in the church cemetery. Freinds may call from 4 to 9 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 16, at the HOLZHUTER FUNERAL HOME, Deerfield.
