A few years after my father died they payed off the debt by taking me to Sears where the wife worked and fitted me with a new suit. I was about 15 then. They were divorced later and I visited Ben in a two flat somewhere and he showed me how he made deluxe fishing rods by precision glue fitting strips of bamboo. I had the impression that it was a skill that was then on the wane. I know that Ben visited with us when we lived in Florida but we were closer to Anny and we had little contact with Frances and Frank."
