Notes
“Benjamin Adair who m. Nancy George had 6-7 children, most of whom you have on your list. However he did not have a son James J. (sometimes written as James Jamierson Adair). This was a misreading of Benjamin's estate distribution list in which his property was distributed to his sons and the spouses of his daughters. One daughter (whose name may have been Nancy) was married to James Jamierson. This error has been perpetuated in a number of genealogies. Benjamin's daughter Alethea (1793-1841) m. Samuel Bowie and his name is on the distribution list. You may want to add her name. Benjamin's daughter Margaret (1800-1861) m. Eli Fitzgerald (1800-1849). She married after her father died. She did _not_ marry Elias McNabb. Margaret and Eli are buried in the Old Stone Church cem., Clemson, SC.”
