About Benjamin Edward Albee

Benjamin Albee was a public land surveyor.1 He was born in 1614 in Norfolk, England.2 On 29 July 1627 in Medfield, Norfolk County, Massachusetts, Benjamin married Hannah Miller.2 Benjamin Albee became a freeman in 1642 in Braintree, Norfolk County, Massachusetts.1 He moved in 1649 to Medfield, Norfolk County, Massachusetts.1 About 1664 or 166, he built the first water powered grain mill in what is now Milford on the Mill River.1 He served in 1667 in Mendon, Worcester County, Massachusetts, as as one of the first Selectman.1 At the outbreak of King Philip's War, he fled Eastward with his family and the other inhabitants of Mendon. He returned only as far as Medfield.1
