Sometime before 1720, he established a school near the corner of Main Street and Rays Court in Nantucket.
His date of death is in question. His widow was appointed administratrix of his estate on 7 Feb 1734/5. The estate was inventoried at 2610.8.8-1/4 lbs. Some of the items in the inventory included: share of Old Wharf; 5/12 of sloop Ranger; 1/4 of mill; silver cup and spoons; 1/12 of woman's school house and 1/18 of man's school house; a whole boat, oars, craft to the boat; house at Weweder; an outfit for shore whaling; Elwood's Sacred History. In the division of the estate, the house went to son Timothy.
