Description: In 1688- Benjamin Bridges was a 10-year-old, born, Jan 7, 1678, Hollesley, Suffolk, England, an orphan at Christ's Hospital Orphanage, London, His father, Benjamin, a cutler had died two years earlier; his father's friends agreed to apprentice his son to Sgt. John Morris of Newark a mariner of NY, American Colonies. Sgt. Morris must have treated him well.

He was contracted as an Orphan Apprentice in Bondage in the American Colonies as a young child. he, married, purchased land in North Carolina, and had at least one son we have a record of.
