About Benjamin Carle

Benjamin Carle lived first in Falmouth, then moved to Vienna, Kennebec County, Maine. He and his family are seen in the 1810 census of Vienna: BENJAMIN CARLL, 1 male age 26-45; 1 female age 26-45; 1 female age 16-26; 3 females age 10-16; 2 males under age 10; 2 females under age 10 [next door to Benjamin's father, Jonathan Carle].

Later, Benjamin and his family moved to New Portland, Maine before settling in Zurich, New York. Benjamin spent his later years in Arcadia, New York where his wife Molly died on 31 Jan 1853, age 82, and he died on 29 March 1859 in his 90th year of age.

Cumberland County, Maine Registry of Probate: "Benjamin Carle and wife Molly Carle, heirs to the estate of Zachariah Field, late of Falmouth, appoint [her brother] Zachariah Field of North Yarmouth, grandson of the late Zachariah Field, as counsel to receive Molly Carle's share from the estate of her grandfather, the late Zachariah Field." [Signed by Benjamin Carle and Mary Carle (her mark) at New Portland, Maine, c1810]
