Benjamin settled in Boston, Mass. and engaged in the Leather business. He was a tax payer in 1681 and 1685; was elected "SEALER OF LEATHER" March 12, 1682 and was a tything man in Capt. Turrill's Company April 30, 1687. He removed to Fairfield, Conn. by 1687, the town records reading "March 23, 1687, Benjamin Dunen hath this day land given him upon his dezire to come and live in this town do so ___ ____ ___ of making shoos ___ continue so long as ye town sees caus".
He removed to Jamaica L. I. where he is mentioned in town records in 1699 and again in 1708 as the father of Hannah Dunning who was married that year to Isaac Hurd of Stratford, Conn.
