Benjamin Foster moved from Essex County Massachusetts to Rockingham County, New Hampshire about 1740 when four of his children were married. As stated in the Hampstead town records, and in 1760 the old folks with two sons and two daughters moved to Granville, NS, Canada. Mr. Foster died the day after landing, and his wife after 45 years, a widow.

Biography

Benjamin Foster was baptized on October 6, 1689 in Topsfield, Essex, Massachusetts,[1] the son of Jacob Foster and Sarah (Wood) Foster.[2]

Benjamin married Sarah Woodward in the Chebacco section of Ipswich, Essex, Massachusetts (now the town of Essex) on March 15, 1725/26.[2][3][4][5] They had previously published their Notice of intent to marry on 6 Nov 1725 in Chebacco, Essex, Massachusetts.[6] Sarah and Benjamin had the following children:[2]

Judith, b.1726, m.Chute; Isaac, b.1728; Ezekiel, b.1730; Elizabeth, b.1733. m.Francis B. Lecain, 1761; Sarah, b.1737, m.Abel Wheelock; Jeremiah, b.1740 m.Jemima Kent 1768. Benjamin and Sarah moved from Massachusetts to Rockingham County, New Hampshire about 1740.[2] In 1760, Benjamin and Sarah moved to Granville Township, Annapolis, Nova Scotia with their daughter Judith and her husband John Chute.[2][7][8][9]

Benjamin died in 1760, one day after landing in Nova Scotia.[2]
