Elizabeth Frame's grandfather was granted 160 acres of land in the military tract of Illinois for service in the War of 1812. His son Benjamin L. Frame took over the grant which fell in McKee Township, Adams County, and he came west with his wife and baby. While he built his log cabin, he could see the camp fires of Indians along the creek to the south for the government was moving them west at that period. In this log house, the Frame family lived many years. Benjamin and his wife are buried on the same lot.
