J. B. Eaves died in Austin shortly after midnight Tuesday night of last week and was brought to the old Hollis community, his old home place, for burial in the Rock Prairie Cemetery, w His brother Sam and his cousin, O. Youngblood Mr. Eaves was born, January 7, 1813(s/b/ 1883) He was married September 11, 1910 to Miss Mary, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Mize, now of North Zulch. He leaves his wife, and two daughters, Annie Mae and Mildred. His father, mother, two brothers and a sister also survive. Some twelve years ago he moved to Normangee and during his residence here served as school trustee, alderman and mayor of the town. After the graduation from high school here of his eldest daughter, Annie Mae, in 1929 he moved to Austin to give her the advantage of attending college. She attended the State University and then took a business course. We understand that she will be given a position in the state capitol. There are few better men that John Eaves, a real man, a true friend and a good citizen. His friends were many and best wishes of everyone goes out to the sorrowing family.
