About Benjamin Franklin Garlington, Jr.
Funeral services for Benjamin "B.F." Garlington, Jr. will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2005 in the chapel of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville with the Revs. Benny and Lee Hollingsworth officiating. Burial will be in Springhill Cemetery, Ball.
Mr. Garlington, 89 of Pineville entered eternal rest on Friday December 23, 2005 in The Oaks Care Center, Pineville. He was a lifelong member of The Weslyn Methodist Church. He was a retired head custodian for Bolton High School. He was formerly the plant operator for Rapides Parish Water Works at Camp Livingston. He served in the Civilian Conservation Corp during World War II. He was an avid fisherman and an outdoors entheusiest. He was a very kind, generous, and loving father.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Merle Nugent Garlington; one daughter, Sarah Frances Garlington Abbe; two brothers, Doil Garlington, Sr., and Edwin Garlington, Sr.; two sisters, Pinkie Garlington Rayner and Gracie Garlington Dobernig.
He is survived by his wife, Dottie Maxey Crooks Garlington of Pineville; one son, Benny V. Garlington and his wife Virginia Joosten of Orlando Florida; one step son, Gerald R. Crooks and his wife Susan of Deville; one son in law, Jerry John Abbe of Garwin, Iowa.
Also survived by six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit on Monday from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. and on Tuesday after 8 a.m. until time of services at Rush Funeral Home, Pineville.
