Son of Jacob & Elizabeth (Bomberger) Gingrich. In 1844 he was engaged as the farmer for Linden Hall land and he continued in that work until the farm was abandoned in 1888. He was then employed in other duties about the school and also served as diener in the church. Died of gangrene. Funeral in German. For his burial, he requested his body to be wrapped in a white shroud and placed in a plain coffin.
