About Benjamin Harrison, Sr.

NOT PROVEN but likely brother of William.

Letters of several descendants of this line state that this Benjamin was a kinsmen of Pres. William Henry HARRISON.

This information on Benjamin Harrison and his descendants is taken from "Records of the Harrison Family of Brunswick County, Virginia, Georgia and Alabama," research by Miss Alberta Patterson and Mrs. George S. Foster 1956 through 1964. Other items are from Brunswick County Records and other sources. Benjamin Harrison and his family settled in the Southwest corner of Brunswick County, land running into Mecklenburg Co and Warren Co, N.C. their land was along Cock's Creek and its branches, Little Creek and Pole Creek (now called Poplar Creek). Many of his family left for Georgia and other Southern states. The sale of 1,835 acres of land on Cock's Creek by Martha Hicks and Benjamin Harrison, Jr., to Edward Brodnax, November 12, 1799, indicates their departure to Greene County, Georgia around 1801.
