He lived in Exeter and Stratham 1707-1717, Dover 1720-22, Stratham 1723-31 and Amesbury in 1732. He followed several of his children who had already moved to Dutchess County, NY.

He married secondly Esther Swett b. 6/10/1690, daughter of Moses and Mary (Hussey) Swett on 11/21/1781-19. As an interesting note, we are related to Esther through her brother Stephen.

The History of Amesbury states that "in 1723, the Society of Friends objected to Joshua Purrington, Benjamin Hoag and Moses Sweatt putting gravestones on graves."

Benjamin and his son Benjamin received certificates to the Oblong Monthly Meeting in Dutchess County, NY. Benjamin was very active in the Society of Friends and appears to have been a man of more than average abilities.

Per the Old Salisbury and Amesbury Records, pp. 152-3, they resided in Dover, NH in 1721-1722 and in Stratham, NH in 1723.

The Register of Deeds of Rockingham County, NH shows that Benjamin lived at Stratham in 1717, 1724 and 1726 and at Amesbury, MA in 1734, 1740, 1753 and 1756.

The Hampton and Seabrook Monthly Meeting records contain the names of Benjamin, wives Sarah (1) and Esther (2) and children born from 1704-1734.
