Rosencrants received a telegram this morning which conveyed the information that her father, Benjamin Nichols, of this city, was dying at his summer home at Caps Vincent N. Y, In the Thousand lslands. Up to the time The Journal want to press this afternoon, no further word In regard to his condition had been received, Mr. Nichols left early in the summer for Caps Vincent and up to • week ago he was enjoying his usual good health. Last weak, however, word was received hero that he was 111, but not seriously. His son, Charles M. Nichols, left Wednesday evening for Cape Vincent and was scheduled to arrive there some time today.
