Benjamin Sydney Okun

Okun—Suran The marriage of Jeannette, the only daughter of Mrs. Rose Suran and the late A. Suran, to Benjamin Okun, son of Mrs. Ethel Okun and the late Mr. Okun, was solemnized Wednesday, June 20, at McCaul Street Synagogue, Rabbi Gordon and Cantor Wladowsky officiating. The bride was given away by her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. A. Cavel), of Preston, Ont. She was gowned in ivory satin, period style, appliqued with lace and embroidered in pearls and rhinestones. Her veil of net and lace was caught on a lace bandeau in Dutch cap style and she carried a bouquet of orchids and lilies-of-the-valley. Miss Adeline Mayrint was maid of honour, gowned in a green taffeta and net dress in bouffant style with picture hat and shoes to match, and carried a bouquet of pink roses and lilies-of-the-valley. Meyer Okun, brother of the groom, waa beat man. The bridesmaids were Misses Ada Gibbel, who wore a shell pink georgette and lace gown; Reta Landau, orchid crepe romaine gown, and Paula Herman in a powder blue taffeta. Their hats and shoes matched their gowns and they carried bouquets of pink roses and lilies-of-the-valley. The groomsmen were Lawrence Chankin, Herman Palter^ and Al Gunn. Mrs. Suran, mother of the bride, was gowned in beige lace dress with Bhoes to match; Mrs. Okua. mother of the groom, in black lace and georgette, both with corsages of orchids. A dinner was given at Lazar's and later in the evening a reception was held at the Prince George Hotel for 150 guests. The bridal couple left on a motor trip through the States.
