   10. Benjamin Osborne, son of Thomas Osborne & Mary Goatly, b. Dec. 4, 1646, in New Haven and baptized there Jan. 3, 1646/7, d. Feb. 27, 1721/2, at East Hampton, aged about 75 yrs., m. Abigail Talmadge, baptized May 13, 1649, at New Haven, d. in East Hampton May 7, 1718, aged about 69 yrs. Benjamin Osborne moved with his parents to East Hampton ca. 1649. He was on the rate list for East Hampton Aug. 24, 1675 (NYDH 2:441), and again on Sept. 8, 1683 (ibid., p. 540). He was named in an Indian deed of 1687 as being employed by the Trustees (of East Hampton), etc. (Jour. of L. I. Hist. Soc., vol. V, no. 1, winter 1965). On Apr. 20, 1697, he sold land in East Hampton (Suffolk Co., L.I. Deeds, B:32).
