Benjamin married Charity Vaughan 17 Dec 1792 in Warren County, NC. Benjamin had land in Tazewell Virginia along the Clinch River. He moved his family to Floyd County KY, between 1810 and 1820, and settled the area that later came to be called Cow Creek in Magoffin County.

Much of the Reed family was centered in Magoffin County, KY. Some of Benjamin's children migrated to Arkansas and Benjamin, in his old age, went with them. Benjamin is buried in the Reed Family Cemetery, near Hazel Valley, Washington County, AR
There is much conflicting information about Benjamin Reed's birth date and location. His migrations to and from Kentucky are well-documented through land grants and census rolls.
