Benjamin Botts Rice

Benjamin Botts Rice, son of Frederick Allen Rice and Charlotte M. Baldwin, was b. Dec. 30,1872 in Houston,Texas; m. on June 5,1900 in Houston, with MARY WALKER CALDER, dau. of James P. Calder and Sarah Elizabeth Weston. She was b. in Houston on Oct. 10,1874. She d. Dec. 22,1935 in Houston; he d. there Oct 18, 1958. Both buried at Glenwood Cemetery in Houston.They resided at 5303 Caroline St.,Houston.

Children were: Benjamin Botts (1901-1914), Calder (1903-1982), George Porter (1906-1927), Lillie (1908-1992), and Mary Calder (1914).

• 1920 census: B.B. (47) with wife Mary (45) in Harris Co., w ch. Calder (16), George (13), Lillie (11) and Mary Calder (6). Also coded as a dau. is Miinnie Rice; however, her age is listed as (22) making her born prior to Benj & Mary marriage in 1900. I believe she was a cousin.
