Benjamin Smith

Benjamin Smith was bornat Newbury, Massachusetts on August 21, 1681, son of James and Sarah (Coker) Smith. [1] [2] [3]

He married widow Hannah (Sargent) Somes on April 19, 1709 at Newbury. [2] Hannah, widow of William Somes, was the daughter of Thomas Sargent and Rachel Barnes. She was born at Amesbury, Massachusetts, on July 25, 1685. [4]

1710: Hannah Smith paid an amount owed on the account of Mr. John Stanwood from her husband William Some's estate. [5] 1711 and 1721, Benjamin Smith paid on accounts due on the estate of William Somes. [5] Benjamin Smith, Ensign, died at Newbury on May 14, 1723, aged 41. [2]

• Sargeant, s. Benjamin and Hannah, Nov. 2, 1714. [1715. dup.] married (1) Eunice Ordway, Nov. 9, 1736. (2) Sarah Bartlet, Feb. 7, 1754.
• Thomas, s. Benjamin and Hannah, Mar. 14, 1717.
• Joshua, s. Benjamin and Hannah, May 4, 1719.
• Abigail, d. Benjamin and Hannah, Dec. 18, 1723.
