Way had family connexions and property at Bridport, and in 1765 was returned unopposed. In Rockingham’s lists of July 1765 and November 1766 he was classed as ‘doubtful’. He voted against the Chatham Administration on the land tax, 27 Feb. 1767, and on the nullum tempus bill, 17 Feb. 1768. Apparently he never spoke in the House. He did not stand again in 1768.
