Ben H. Williams Jr. 2/08/00 Ben H. Williams Jr., 78, 285 Cedar Grove Road, Johnson City, died Sunday, February 6, 2000, at the James H. Quillen Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Mountain Home, following a brief illness.
Mr. Williams was a native of Whitesburg, Tenn., and had lived in Johnson City since his retirement. He was a son of the late Ben H. Sr. and Rita Remine Williams and was also preceded in death by two brothers, Monroe Williams and Henry Williams.
Mr. Williams was a retired Sergeant First Class in the U.S. Army with 31 years of service. He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include three nephews, Harold E., Monroe "Roe" Jr. and Henry S. Williams, all of Johnson City; and two nieces, June Jones, Johnson City, and Wanda Dancy, Atlanta, Texas. WILLIAMS -- Funeral services for Ben H. Williams Jr., 78, 285 Cedar Grove Road, Johnson City, who died Sunday, February 6, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 9, at Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, with Rev. D.C. Byrd officiating. Interment will follow at Urbana Cemetery in Limestone. Active pallbearers will be selected. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, prior to the service.
