- Benjamin Winthrop was born in 1582 and baptised on the 23rd July 1582 at St Andrew Undershaft, London.
- He is the only known child of John Winthrop and his first wife Elizabeth Risby. Benjamin was not mentioned in the 1613 will of his father.
