History - Benjamin felt the burden taking care of the children and trying to make a livelihood. So, he asked Eliza's sister Mahala to come in and take care of the children. This arrangement ended in a marriage. However, as the years went by, even though Mahala took good care of the three, and loved them as her own, there was no issue from the marriage of Mahala and Benjamin. There was a legal separation; however, we have not been able to find a divorce decree.
Then Benjamin met Bessie Nichols, and through this marriage many children came through.
Of the three living children from the union of Eliza Darton and Benjamin Wright, Charlotte became rather famous in the Salt Lake area, after she married Michael Mauss, and delivered triplets. Charlotte Rouse Wright bore to Michael two females and one male, Vynal, Vilma, and Velma.
Benjamin was injured at a Sugar Beet Factory in Lehi, Utah, when he slipped on some syrup and had severe head trauma due to a large pulley belt. He died at his home in Pleasant Grove.
